Summary

To be honest, at first I was against this project. For those who know me, texting is a major step for me, so things like TWITTER and GOOGLE DOCS just seem way to involved for what they actually do. I don't like change, and am wary of technology, so this was hard for me (though some things I do subscribe to!). Thought it was an interesting way to introduce these technologies to the staff....dress down coupons and the 8 hour comp time was a nice reward! Thanks :)

I have used Craigslist before...I actually posted something for sale but was freaked out by the amount of people who wanted to come so quickly into my home, so gave that up quick! Anyway, looked under tickets, and almost choked on my TWIX....who would pay this much to see her (and sorry in advance if I offended any of her fans, I am entitled to my own views)?

When will Google stop!

Arghhh...did not like this (Sam I am!). Not even sure if I did it right....it kept saving and I wan't even done, and then I had to share and I don't like sharing (sorry Nick). I am a simple girl....if I can't do it in Word, then I don't wanna do it (and please don't make me!).

Wiki

Not a big fan of the Wiki as a research tool; upsides usually have downsides, and not always those who edit have the knowledge to do so.

Anyway....I viewed the Princeton BookLoversWiki and enjoyed it. Found some titles that I am going to look into for myself...one being "The Accidental" by Ali Smith (under Staff reviews).

Very visual. Very pretty. Pretty Wiki, me likey.

New Feeds (still trying to understand old feeds?!?!?!)

Okay....went to Technorati and was hoping that Hans (The Technorati Tutorial guide) could help me; however I could not hear him over the horrible muzac playing in the background. Even without the music, I think I would have still had a problem with his English.

Anyway, searched for a blog (Just Jared...just more gossip)to add to my feeds and now it is nestled in the orange square at the top of my computer....oh, and subscribed to it in my Google Reader....no thanks to Hans.

Our Library's feeds fed me Snopes (yum)

I am not sure how patrons in the Adult realm of the library world will utilize the feeds from our page; other attemps to bring them UTD haven't taken off strongly. Having the feeds however from a Librarian point of view is handy in the case of newsworthy reference questions; we won't have to "leave" the catalog to jump onto CNN (or to Snopes for that matter, we do get some weird questions and have used it in the past :))
